Thame Motorsport Club
Thame Motorsport Club is now primarily involved in Stage Rallying and despite being a relatively small club we are able to field more crews than many larger clubs. We currently have over 20 active teams involved at all levels of the sport from single venue rallies, through to national championship and international events. Their cars range from clubman's specification vehicles up to full Group A and WRC machinery.
We organise a variety of events ranging from indoor karting competitions and autotests through to road and stage rallies, including running stages for the Network Q Rally. We pride ourselves on being a friendly club and always make new members welcome at club nights. If you are new to motorsport we always have experienced competitors on hand who are willing to offer help and advice. Currently we have around 100 members, the majority of which are active in motorsport either as drivers, navigators, service crew, marshals or organisers. The Club was formed
in 1961 from the former Thame Motorcycle and Light Car club and was originally called the Thame & District Car Club
which brought a move into motor sport, primarily road rallies and autotests. Later the club came to be known simply as Thame
Motor Club. With the formation of a local classic car club it was decided to change to the current name in 2001 to emphasise
our motorsport specilisation.
We
are an MSA Recognised Club and as well as being affiliated to The Motor Sports Association, the Club is also a member of the
London Counties Association of Motor Clubs, the Association of Central Southern Motor Clubs and the Association of West
Midlands Motor Clubs. This ensures that our members are eligible for a wide variety or events.
