Marshalling

CompetitorThe 2011 Rockingham Stages will be held on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th December and we are once again looking for volunteers to help with marshalling the rally. As we were looking for marshals on two successive days we provided free bed & breakfast for a number of marshals who sign on to both days.

The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped make the 2009 event a success and in particular the marshals who spent the whole day out in the cold and without whom the event would not have run.

A message from the Chief Marshal regarding last year's rally: -

Thank you to everyone for supporting this year's Rockingham Stages, especially the officials, marshals, radio crews and safety personnel, because without their help and assistance on the event it just would not be possible. They braved the cold and rain to support what was, once again, an outstanding weekend's motorsport. Without the support and assistance of volunteer marshals an event of this size could not take place and their help in turning the stages around made a significant difference. Despite the adverse weather conditions the Chief Marshal reported smiling faces and 'thumbs up' from marshals and competitors.

Vehicle access for Radio Crews / Marshals

In previous years rumours were circulating among potential marshals and radio crews that they would be unable to take their vehicles onto the circuit and will be bussed to their posts.

While this is true for Race meetings it DOES NOT APPLY to the Rally. All the radio cars and most of the marshals will be able to use their vehicles. There may be a few points where marshals will be unable to park their vehicles and will have a short walk from their cars - but that is no different to any other stage rally. All marshals within the centre of the circuit will have vehicle access to the centre of the circuit.
