We are delighted to invite you all back to Rockingham Motor Speedway for the 5th running of the Rockingham Stages rally at this magnificent facility. The venue provides scope for some long, fast stages that should be non-damaging – if you avoid the concrete walls. Where else can your service crew and admirers watch virtually the whole event from the comfort of a warm building with a pint in their hand and a warm meal on the table!

Building on the success of previous events, we are continuing with the two-day format this year and have again planned 10 stages of around 8 – 11 miles each, spread over the two days. Scrutineering and Documentation will take place on the Saturday morning, followed by 4 stages in the afternoon, including 2 in the dark – so get out those spot lights and lamp pods. We are also retaining the separate Land Rover Rally that proved so popular. On the Saturday evening there will be a rally party/get together in the Welcome Suite, where food and drink will be available. (Admission for competitors and service crew is included in the entry fee).

A further 6 stages will take place on the Sunday, providing a total of around 85 miles of competitive motoring – all for an entry fee of only £295 – excellent value for money at around £3.50 per mile. For those unlucky enough to retire on the Saturday, there will be a Trophy Rally over the 6 Sunday stages.

This year we are again supporting the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre for Cancer Support and Information at Mount Vernon Hospital (LJMC) and we hope you will give generously to this worthwhile cause.

There are numerous hotels and guest houses within a short distance of the venue and full details can be found on the Rockingham website – www.rockingham.co.uk or contact one of the local tourist offices - Corby Tourist Information Centre Office (01536 407507), Kettering Tourist Information Centre (01536 410266).

Once again, we are trying for a ‘paperless’ rally and, while it cannot be achieved completely, we would like, as far as possible, for all communications to be electronic. The Regulations and Entry Form can be downloaded from this website - and we ask that wherever possible an e-mail address is given for acceptance, finals etc. Obviously, if you have no means of obtaining the Regulations or other information electronically, we will still be more that willing to use the normal mail services..

We look forward to seeing you there.

The Rockingham Stages was won for the second year in a row by Steve Simpson (Hyundai Accent WRC), this time co-driven by Simon Hunter. John Stone & Lee Carter (Hyundai Accent WRC) were quickest on the opening stage but Simpson & Hunter took the lead on the second stage and steadily extended the gap to finish 1m 39s ahead of Chris Davis & Brandon Parker (Darrian T90) in 2nd place with Graham Coffey & Howard Pridmore (Subaru Impreza) 3rd. The early leaders, Stone & Carter, finished in 4th place.

The Organisers would like to thank everyone who helped make the 2006 Rockingham Stages a success, especially the marshals who spent all day out in the cold and without whom the rally could not have taken place. We look forward to seeing you again in 2007.
